The National Children's
Gospel Song Competition The
National Children’s Gospel Song Competition is organized
annually by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC)
since 2003. The Competition seeks to foster a higher level
of interest and participation from churches, schools and other
community groups. It offers the opportunity for honing, developing
and nurturing of skills so that these children will later
enter as professionals in the Jamaica (Original) Gospel Song
Competition.
The Competition
is opened to children between the ages 6 - 15 years in the
following categories:
i. Soloists
ii. Ensembles (2 - 10 voices)
iii. Choirs (11 - 20 voices).
The JCDC
seeks to target writers and composers of children songs. This
should see the entry of original material in the Competition.
